Xiaomi has recently raised the curtains over its latest flagship handset the Xiaomi Mi6, which looks to be a very promising smartphone for 2017, despite the competition.
With top-of-the-line hardware specs, this sleek device has a lot to offer if you are in the market for a new smartphone.
Design & Display
At first glimpse, the handset offers a luxurious and premium look featuring a four-sided 3D glass panel. The curved design is made up of stainless steel delivering a high-gloss outline.
The fingerprint scanner has been placed in the front, underneath the glass, which I prefer than to have it at the back.
The Mi6 comes in three color options of Black, Blue and White and two special edition versions namely the Ceramic and Silver.
The Silver Edition of the Xiaomi Mi6 comes with the ultra-mirror reflective finish and four-sided 3D curves, while the ceramic variant comes with the 18K gold camera rims.
The display size for the Mi6 is 5.15-inches with an FHD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. Also, the screen can deliver a maximum output brightness of 600 nits.
Memory and Hardware
This handset comes with 6GB of RAM and two native storage options of 64GB and 128GB.
With that amount of RAM, the Xiaomi Mi6 is on par with the OnePlus 3T which also boasts 6GB or RAM.
The handset comes with the latest Snapdragon 835 chipset which is said to be 25% more efficient over its predecessor the Snapdragon 820. This means that the Mi6, with a maximum battery capacity of 3500mAh, should allow users to go a day on a full charge with average usage.
Similar to the iPhone 7, the Mi6 has ditched the 3.5mm audio jack for a USB Type-C connector.
The handset will be running the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat version skinned with the company’s MIUI interface. (Also Read:- Xiaomi Redmi4A best in class with lots of new features at an best price)
Xiaomi seems to have done a great amount of work in the camera department. The Mi6 hosts a dual rear camera setup with a 12MP wide-angle camera, and a 12MP telephoto snapper for 2x lossless zoom.
The cameras are also equipped with features like phase detection autofocus and four-axis anti-shake functionality to reduce those jitters while filming.
The handset comes with a 2×2 MIMO Wi-Fi support, dual-SIM support (4G + 4G/3G/2G). It also supports 4G+ networks with download speeds of up to 500 Mbps and 100 Mbps upload speeds.
We also see the addition of Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity on board, which is great as this is becoming the standard.
Pricing and Availability
The Xiaomi Mi6 will be priced at $363 USD (Approx Rs.23,425) for its 64GB variant and $421 USD (Approx. Rs.27,200) for its 128GB variant. The handset will be released in China on the 28th of April followed by a global release later.
